The sapphire
hair transplant
With the sapphire FUE method, hair follicles are extracted one by one and placed via micro-incisions made with a precision sapphire blade. This delivers a more accurate result, faster recovery and a completely natural hairline.
- 01Follicle extraction Healthy hair follicles are individually extracted from the donor area using a 0.7–0.9 mm micro-punch.
- 02Sapphire micro-incisions Using a sapphire blade, extremely fine channels are made at the exact angle and direction of your natural hair.
- 03Graft placement Each follicular unit is carefully placed into the prepared channel for maximum density and survival.

From first consultation to
full result
A hair transplant is a year-long journey. Here is what you can expect, step by step.
Preparation at home
Stop smoking and blood thinners. Avoid alcohol and caffeine for the last three days. Your body is the foundation of the result.
The treatment
The sapphire FUE procedure takes six to eight hours. You are conscious but feel nothing thanks to local anaesthesia. You go home the same day.
First recovery week
Mild redness and swelling disappear within a week. Your dedicated point of contact is available at all times, including weekends.
Temporary shedding
The hair temporarily falls out. This is completely normal and a sign that the follicle is adapting. The root remains intact and prepares for new growth.
Visible hair growth
The hairline takes shape. Most patients are already very satisfied at this stage. The best result is yet to come.
Definitive result
The hair has fully grown in. Thick, natural hair that suits your face. Permanent and lifelong. We schedule a final follow-up to review the result together.

Everything about hair transplantation
Honest answers to the questions you may not have dared to ask yet.
Can I have a hair transplant while I am still going bald?
This is one of the most frequently asked questions, and the answer depends on the extent and rate of your hair loss. A hair transplant works best when hair loss has stabilised. If grafts are placed while the surrounding hair is still falling out, the result may appear uneven over time as the existing hair continues to thin.
As a general rule, men over the age of 25 to 30 whose hair loss pattern has been stable for at least one year are good candidates. For younger patients or actively progressing hair loss, we generally advise waiting or first considering medical treatment such as finasteride or minoxidil to stabilise the hair loss.
During your free consultation we assess your personal situation and provide honest advice on the right timing for a treatment.
What is the difference between FUE and sapphire FUE, and why does it matter?
In the classic FUE method, incisions in the recipient area are made with steel blades. In the sapphire FUE technique we use blades made of synthetic sapphire, an extremely smooth and hard crystal material. This difference may sound minor but has significant consequences for the result.
Sapphire blades create much smaller, more precise incisions. This leads to less tissue damage, faster healing and a lower risk of infection or scarring. In addition, hair follicles can be placed at a more accurate angle and in the correct direction, making the hairline considerably more natural.
The result is a denser final outcome with a shorter recovery period. The higher precision also makes sapphire FUE suitable for patients with a finer hair texture or a smaller donor area.
What will my hair look like in the first months after the transplant?
During the first weeks after treatment the area will look red and crusty. This is completely normal and will subside within seven to ten days. Many patients choose to wear a cap during the first week, although this is absolutely not necessary.
Between week three and month four the so-called shock loss occurs: the transplanted hairs fall out. This is the phase that worries patients the most, but it is a normal and necessary part of the process. The hair follicles themselves remain intact beneath the skin and then begin producing new, permanent hairs.
From month four to eight you will see the first new hair growth appear, initially fine and light in colour. The definitive result, with full density and the final hair texture, is only visible between month twelve and eighteen.
What if the result falls short of expectations — do you offer a guarantee?
A hair transplant is a medical procedure, not a cosmetic product. We are honest about what this means: no clinic in the world can guarantee a 100 percent growth rate, because individual factors such as blood circulation, aftercare and genetics play a role.
What we do guarantee is thorough preparation, expert execution by certified physicians and a complete aftercare programme including multiple follow-up appointments. If growth remains significantly below expectations despite correctly following the aftercare instructions, we will always discuss an appropriate solution together.
Feel free to ask during your consultation to see our before-and-after results from comparable cases. Transparency is the best guarantee we can offer.
Can I simply continue working after the treatment?
For office work and working from home we advise taking two to three days of rest after the treatment. Most patients feel well enough to resume light activities after 48 hours, although the transplanted area may still be visibly red and crusty during the first week.
Heavy physical work, exercise or environments with a lot of dust and sweat should be avoided for at least ten to fourteen days. Many of our patients plan the treatment on a Thursday or Friday so they have the weekend to recover and can return to work on Monday.
With slightly longer hair or a cap the treatment is easy to conceal. After two weeks there is virtually nothing left for the outside world to notice.
How do I choose a reliable clinic for a hair transplant?
The hair transplant market is large and unfortunately not always transparent. Always ask who performs the procedure. In a reliable clinic, a certified physician bears final responsibility for the complete procedure, not just for the anaesthesia.
Review before-and-after results from real patients with hair loss patterns similar to yours, preferably with photos taken at least twelve months after the procedure. Ask about the growth rate and how the clinic handles disappointing results. A serious clinic gives an honest and nuanced answer to this.
Also pay attention to the aftercare programme. A quality clinic offers multiple follow-up appointments and a dedicated point of contact after the treatment. If no aftercare is provided following the treatment, that is a clear signal.
